Sigma 50mm F2.8 1:1 Macro

Primary Uses: Close up of facial features, Close up of small but subtle actions (e.g., Chalk being applied to a hand in gymnastics).  Secondary Uses: Capturing fine details of small things (e.g., dust coming off a tire, chopping vegetables,).  Pros:  Incredible image quality vs cost of lens.  Incredibly sharp lens.  Allows you to get closer to objects than standard 50mm lens, which can convey the emotional feel of am image.  Being a 50mm 1:1 macro lens, allows more light through the lens at 1:1 than a macro lens with a longer focal length (e.g., 100mm macro) – this allows faster shutter speeds at same relative magnification.   Very small, compact lens.  Cons:  Very slow auto focus, A bit soft wide open.
